Thursday 15th August was a big day across the country for lots of 18 year-olds and unfortunately, I was one of them. So, with bated breath, I awaited my A-Level results to see if I would had achieved the AAB results that I needed to go to my first choice university, Exeter. Much to my disappointment, I didn’t get the results I needed, meaning that I could not attend my absolute dream university.
However, I DID get the grades to attend my second choice university, Royal Holloway University of London. Although quite disappointed in myself that I didn’t get what I wanted, I have to admit I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m going to Royal Holloway.
One of the things I love about Royal Holloway is the fact it’s very Hogwarts-esque, although many would say that’s not a criteria one should base the future of their education on. For future uni-goers, I would recommend that you remember that sometimes it’s not about what university you go to, or how far up in the league tables it is. The bottom line is that university is what you make it.
So to round this uni-related update off, I officially enroll at Royal Holloway on the 23rd September, and I think this might be my biggest adventure yet. And I know I promised a travel blog, but I hope that my move to higher education will bring more opportunities to travel and explore.
So, is anybody else off to university this September? Anyone coming to Royal Holloway with me? And how did you guys feel about the whole university application process? Comment! (And stay tuned for an update later in the week)
